Aspects of Cinematography To Be Used in My Project, Part 2 – Filters, Lens, and Lighting:
Filters can be extremely important for cinematography when wanting to get a specific mood, or 'feel,' to a shot. My project will not shy away from this important tool in cinematography, either. Due to the calamitous and dark tone of the project, a much darker and draft filter would be much appreciated and would help to create that tone that would be ever-present throughout the story. As stated earlier, a wider field-of-view would be very important in helping the viewer establish the setting of the project. Certain lenses can help achieve, all to varying degrees. I will have to decide the exact 'intensity' of the lens in terms of field-of-view, but that will be a conflict that is to be discussed at a later date. Other effects from lenses, such as limiting light and zoom, might also be in play.

(This image shows the lighting of a set in a film. Obviously, my set lighting won't be as elaborate as this, but this and other lighting configs are still a good basis for lighting.)
Lighting might just be the most important subcategory of cinematography. Not only does it affect the visibility of both the characters and the setting of the story, but even affects the mood and tone a certain scene can be trying to convey. Hence why lighting will be thoroughly examined and discussed throughout my project. Due to the drab tone and nature of the project's plot, darker lighting will be utilized. You know that feeling one gets during the coming of a storm, one that's not exactly there yet, but will be soon. I will be trying to replicate that same feeling throughout my ENTIRE project. Not only would it just look cool and match the tone, but could also foreshadow possible conflicts in the future. Of course, they won't actually be happening, because the project can only be two minutes long.
