Historical inspirations for my project - National Inspirations:
Obviously, many modern day controversies, especially the ones that have happened in the past year or so, are going to be the main inspirations regarding this project. It's pretty clear as to why this is the case, but it still needs some explanation. For example, there have been numerous actions made by those in power in recent years that have directly lessened citizens' rights and freedoms. United States propaganda has, in recent years, ramped up production and strength. Many military actions that are unfavorable to the country's citizens, are, through media outlets, made to look favorable in opinion. This, through extreme repetition, makes the citizens believe that everybody does love the actions taken by the leaders.
(This is the bald eagle, the national bird of the United States, and a symbol of patriotism and nationalism of America. While the bald eagle isn't necessarily American, its symbolism is reinforced through heavy conditioning.)
Patriotism and nationalism, which is heavily prevalent throughout the United States, is another powerful facet of making the citizens of a country love the actions of its regime. Patriotism is heavily enforced through rampant symbolism and taught in schools. In history, many obviously negative nations are treated as anti-patriot and anti-American, which enforced the belief that patriotism is good and questioning America is bad. This type of rampant indoctrination and love of the nation and party is very important for my story.
