Aspects of Sound To Be Used in My Project, Part 2 – Diegetic Sound and Broad Technical Elements:

One of the most important and apparent aspects of diegetic sound is the dialogue within a story. It is obviously useful for conveying information and exposition of the story, but also helps the viewer better understand the characters thoughts and motivations. In this project, dialogue will be used to further demonstrate the grasp the nation's regime has over its citizens, including the family in the project. The conversations between the family should feel heartfelt and genuine, which should clash with the nature of their conversational topics (these topics of conversation should feel 'robotic,' like reciting a script, clashing with the tone of speaking).

(Now, obviously the set of the dining scene won't look this extravagant, as they are very impoverished after all. However, the feel and main idea – a family dinner conversation – should still remain the same.)

Foley sounds and sound effects will be utilized if need be, whether due to not being recorded in the recording of the scene, or simply for emphasis in the post-production stage. Sound mixing will also have to be done after the filming process is finished, so this aspect of sound will be taken care of at a later date. Lastly, sound editing, as the name implies, requires something to exist to edit it, and will also be accounted for later in the process of creating this project.
